I searched for several years after buying these saltshakers, looking for a good setup for a still life. Then one day, I rediscovered a book of frogs, long forgotten on my
bookshelf, with a fantastic frog orchestra on the cover. Perfect! I posed the frogs, took many photos and picked the one with most interest and the best composition.
Using masking fluid to save the brightest highlights, I worked wet-in-wet to create volume in the frogs, wet-on-dry for details and for the book cover, and used
drybrush for the shadows under the frogs. Lastly, I lifted highlights and fine details.
