        The inspiration for this image was the way the light illuminated the fountain spray. To emphasise this, all the detail is in the centre of the image as well as the
        concentration of colour. The background buildings and the surrounding elements are in muted tones with “lost” detail, which enhances the quality of hazy light.
        It is a painting that contrasts the soft animated form of the fountain with the solid urban scene.

                             ABOUT THE ARTIST


                             I trained as an architect and worked for 12 years in   develop as a fine art painter in both oil paints and
