I had long talked about going to visit Dave Bez’s in his studio. I finally managed that some years ago.
The artist studio is not that far from the City centre of Manchester which for me enabled both of us to
have a good chin wag and an in depth look at specific work, examples of which you will see here in
the Deansgate Gallery. btw: David attended the same Art School as myself (the famous exprimental

Manchester High School of Art, sCheetham Hill, opposite Strangeways Prison)-
Dave is by nature an artist who explores what his Art can achieve by way of integrating that natural
talent and an out of the box thinking process, coupled with a sharp artistic visual intelligence.
Much of his popular-public work still has a feeling of uniqueness, as he doesn’t follow painting trends.

Currently and for some time, he has been working on figurative paintings which are historically
connected to ‘Empires.’ These works show the integration of figurative and abstraction, an area of
painting that some enlightened artists have been developing and exploring for a number of years.
