My Art in the Making Ocean’s Poem
STAGE 1 STARTING THE SKY
First I fixed the composition of the painting in my mind. Then, without drawing the sketch on the canvas, I started painting the sky—the farthest
background—with appropriate colors by determining the angle of the light.
STAGE 2 THE CARRIER WAVE
At this point, I specified the carrier wave in
the sea and placed it in accordance with the
hydrodynamic laws.
WHAT THE ARTIST USED
There are only five colors on my palette:
yellow, black, white, red and dark blue.
I have never had any other color but these.
I get any color I need through their mixture.
I have a palette knife and various types of
brushes, from thick to thin, always ready at
hand. I covered the large areas on the canvas
using a broad brush and I painted the details
using brushes No. 16, No. 8 and No. 1.
