        My Inspiration
        I was born in the lush forests of southern
        Taiwan and grew up on a sugar plantation.
        I started painting when I was 8 years old
        with my neighbor, Mr. Tsai, an art teacher,
        who often took me on bicycle rides to other
        villages to paint. He also took me hiking
        and taught me how to observe nature. As
        a child, I also had to walk many miles to
        school. I am still an avid hiker today and
        have hiked many mountains around the
        world. Thus, I developed an early passion for
        nature, especially waterfalls, streams, rivers,
        trees and birds. I became a landscape painter
        because nature is part of my life. After
        discovering splash color painting, I began
