Alison Edwards is a self-taught glass mosaic artist. Often using upcycled
pieces, she produces garden art, wall art, specialised home pieces and
loves the challenge and joy of commissioned murals. Much of Alison's work is
inspired by her surroundings in the Australian beach and bush.
The Rainforest is a glass mosaic triptych depicting the beautiful tropical
Australian bush near the artist’s home. Textured glass and natural local
materials give the work body.
Ocean Breeze is a glass mosaic triptych inspired by the local pandanus tree
and the soft tropical beach breeze and was a commission based on local
painted print.
Midnight Banyan is a glass mosaic piece inspired by the mighty tropical
banyan tree. The tree provides home to many creatures of the Australian
bush and comes alive at night.
ALISON EDWARDS has exhibited in a number of shows around Australia, including; See.me
- Creatives Rising exhibition (2013), Wagait Artist’s Group exhibition 2013 - People's Choice
Award winner, Wagait, Darwin, Australia (2013) and Darwin Fridge Festival – where she
received the Upcycled Art Award, Darwin, Australia (2013). Edwards is currently preparing
for an upcoming Solo exhibition in July 2014 to be held in Darwin, Australia.
