Karoline Hinz began sculpting at the age of seven. This led to several internships
with theatres all over Germany. Hinz completed her three-year apprenticeship
at Stiftung Oper in Berlin, one of the largest theatre workshops in the country.
Working as a passionate freelancer ever since, she has been afforded the
chance to produce various sculptures for various theatre productions, music
videos, short fi lms and private commissions.
Having learned several sculpting and painting techniques and with the
knowledge of a wide variety of materials, Hinz is capable of bringing even the
most absurd ideas to life. Besides creating her own sparkling world of creatures
and creativity, Hinz is more than happy to help others to realise theirs.
COMA is part of her ongoing portrait series called THIS|EASE, where she
visualizes neurologic illnesses, psychotic diseases and rare states of minds
which one can’t predict from just looking.
KAROLINE HINZ was awarded the Baden-Baden award in 2012, a young talent award for
graduates of the Theatre, Film and Television Industries.
