Eddy Bergman is an independent film
maker whose first love has always been
photography – specifically street
photography.
Earlier this year, finding himself in Paris
with his cameras and some free time, he
decided to visit locations around the city
that had been used in famous films,
including Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Le Fabuleux
Destin d'Amelie Poulain (Canal St. Martin
and the Carousel near Sacre Coeur).
There – and throughout Paris – Eddy
captured scenes of a place that feels both
contemporary and timeless.
Later, back in his studio, he applied his
technical skills and knowledge of Adobe
Lightroom to create a unique feeling in the
photographs of the places he visited.
Eddy lives in the northern part of The
Netherlands and started out working with
35mm film in the mid 1980s. He has since
converted to digital, and uses a Panasonic
Lumix GH2 for his film and video work.
Many of the Paris photographs were taken
using a Panasonic Lumix TZ10 point and
shoot camera.
His work has won some awards in national
competitions and he's worked with several
renowned Dutch film makers.
