Robert P. Clarke is a New Media artist who uses photography, video, sound, digital media and performance to create a
wide range of work. The artist has explored such themes as; the body, everyday life and capturing a moment or action,
over the past twenty years, both in the studio and out in the landscape.
One of the main elements of Clarke’s recent work is the capturing of everyday life and expressive moments through fi gures
presented in the urban landscape. This theme is explored in non-manipulated photographs of shadows in such works as
Zebra Crossing and Bus Stop, and also in digitally manipulated photography in such works as Admiring the Monument and
 Walk on By.
These images act as a representation or portrayal of the urban landscape today and a portrayal of the people who live in
this landscape. All these recent images were taken in the London area and link to other projects.
Clarke is working on a project entitled From Here to London, a series of short fi lms. Part 1 of the series was made in 2010
with an additional spin-off fi lm called The Trance produced in 2011. These were exhibited online as part of the Hepworth
Opening Weekend Art Walk, Wakefi eld in May 2011 and can still be viewed via Clarke’s website.
